Terms, version 0.1
Draft for Season 0. Plain English on purpose. A reviewed version replaces this one; the version you accepted is recorded with your account.
What this is
The Hacker Pages is a page for every hacker and, from the first season week, a game in which members attack copies of each other's small web apps with consent and under written rules. The operator is Victor Olsson, Zurich, Switzerland (the operator's full legal name, address and contact are published before the first raid week).
Your account
- You are 18 or older and you are one person; no shared or automated accounts.
- You keep your password and your authenticator to yourself. Your password never reaches us, so we cannot reset it; keep your recovery codes.
- One handle per person. Handles that impersonate people, organisations or the platform are removed.
The game, when it opens
- Raids target only the copy of a member's app that the platform runs for that raid, through the address and key the platform gives you, inside the hour and the limits shown before the first request. Nothing else is ever in scope.
- Every raid is recorded. The recording is yours to keep and the target's to read after the raid; your handle is shown to the target.
- No attacks on the platform itself, on other members' real systems, or on anything outside a raid. Found a bug in the platform? Report it to security@thehackerpages.com; the charter's rules apply and good-faith research is welcome.
Content and conduct
- You own what you post. You give the platform the right to show it to the audiences you chose.
- No harassment, no doxxing, no content that is illegal in Switzerland. Breach notes are humour, never humiliation; the owner can hide any note.
- Bans are human decisions with an appeal; the rules of the game are the same for everyone, including the operator.
Service
- Season 0 is free and small. The service is offered as it is, may be paused for maintenance, and may change; material changes are announced seven days ahead on the platform.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your page, posts and pictures disappear at once; the account is purged within 30 days; proofs you issued stay verifiable as revoked.
- Swiss law applies; courts of Zurich, Switzerland.
